At the core of the band are the fantastic improvisations of Katie Pickard, who has been performing in London for a year, building a reputation for high-quality music and has now engaged the talents of some of London's most exciting musicians.
::KATIE PICKARD - SAXOPHONIST::
Katie's rich lyrical playing has been mesmerising audiences all over London, the UK and Europe. Beginning her journey in classical, Katie performed for a number concert bands and orchestras in Scotland, whilst touring Europe and the UK. As her interest in Jazz increased, Katie neglected classical training to embark on learning jazz and its form. For four years she performed in music festivals and local venues with Apagio, a Big Band in Athens. During this time she also played for Luciano Palavetis, a well known blues singer in Athens. On returning to London, Katie has performed in London Jazz Venues, whilst setting up KTjazz, entertaining for events and weddings.
::THEO GORDON - PIANIST::
Trained at Goldsmiths, Theo began his career playing for James Hardway, touring internationally and recording in London. He has played at venues such as Ronnie Scotts and the 606Club with his own musical ventures such as Theo Gordon's Flux , and with the John Bennet Big Band. As well as playing in KTjazz, he is also playing Piano for Roots Manuva and records in London for a variety of other high profile musicians.
